White on White. Thank you to 🔷 @tractor_gal🔷 for this gorgeous glimpse of her ride just north of Perth, in Western Australia.
Lancelin beach commences at the tip of the foreland formed in lee of the small Edward Island and its larger surrounding reef. The beach curves round to the north for 1.8 km to the next foreland, where the main fishing jetty is located. The beach is sheltered by the reefs off each foreland, which provide only a small central opening for ocean waves. As a result conditions are often calm at the low gradient shoreline and numerous fishing boats moor off the northern end of the beach. The beach is backed by the main caravan park on the foreland, then a wide foreshore reserve and the township. source: http://beachsafe.org.au/beach/wa0926
Australia has some of the best beaches in the world. There are11,915 beaches surrounding the island continent, and you can explore all of them through this website. Generally small and embayed, Australian beaches arecommonly separated by dominant headlands, reefs and inlets which create picturesque and sometimes dramatic landscapes.
Some may think that all beaches are the same, but this is far from the truth. Consider a tropical white sand beachwith no waves and tranquil clear water leading to a coral reef. Then compare it to a black sand beach, covered in large pebbles and pounded by huge surf. This page teaches you a little about what makes these beaches different, and how they change over time.
